As you will be aware, unfortunately we will be unable to carry out our usual nativity performances or Christmas concert this year due to COVID restrictions. Despite this, we believe that it is still important to find a way for children to celebrate Christmas in school and to share this with their families at home. Therefore, this year we have decided to record ‘Now That’s What ‘Eye’ Call Christmas 2020’ – a Christmas CD of songs sung by the children (and staff!) which will hopefully spread some festive cheer, and serve as a memento for the unprecedented year that we have had.
Each class, from Reception to Year 6, is currently learning their own Christmas song in class, which will then be recorded during the first week of December and put together on a CD. The children will also be taking part in a front and back cover design competition in school.
You can order and pay for your CDs from now until Friday 11th December 2020. Your orders will then be given out to you as soon as we can get the CDs printed. We will follow-up your purchase by sending you an electronic copy as I know some of us no longer use CDs.
CDs will cost £7.00 or 2 for £10.00. You may pay for these using your School Money account. Apologies, we cannot accept any other form of payment.
All profits will be donated to Shelter who help, “millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support, and legal services.”
We hope that you will enjoy listening to the fantastic songs that your children have been working hard to learn at school, and that you will support this good cause that the money raised will go towards.
P.S. Our recording process will follow all of the necessary COVID guidelines, including socially distant singing in the school hall with ventilation, and keeping children in their year group bubbles as always.
